Whether it's a blown hose or a machine that won't start, you'll be the go-to problem solver, keeping crews productive and downtime minimal. If you thrive in the field, work well independently, and know diesel systems inside and out, you'll fit right in. Key Responsibilities Travel to construction sites to diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment such as excavators, dozers, compactors, and haul trucks. Perform on-site preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with limited access to shop tools. Communicate clearly with foremen, operators, and supervisors to coordinate repairs. Maintain a clean, well-stocked service truck and accurate maintenance records. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 2+ years of field or shop experience servicing heavy diesel equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics. Comfortable working in outdoor conditions (heat, mud, terrain). Highly dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently. Valid driver's license and clean driving record; CDL or DOT medical card a plus. Familiarity with CAT, Komatsu, Volvo (preferred, not required).
