Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting our commitment to excellence in service and equipment reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics passionate about working with diverse machinery in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals to identify root causes efficiently. Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components with precision. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to assemble or repair machinery parts. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance and traceability. Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications using fabrication skills and technical schematics. Support safety protocols by inspecting equipment for hazards and ensuring all repairs meet industry standards. Requirements Proven experience as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and diesel engines. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex machinery repairs. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication tools. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to service technician roles. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
