Grass Roots Equipment & Repair is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to support our customers throughout Iowa and the Midwest. We specialize in heavy equipment repair, maintenance, rebuilds, diagnostics, rentals, and equipment sales. If you take pride in fixing equipment the right way, enjoy working independently, and want to be part of a company that is growing rapidly, we'd like to talk with you. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field and shop Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, and undercarriage systems Complete machine inspections and document repair recommendations Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair needs and equipment condition Maintain a clean and organized service truck and work area Complete service reports and work orders accurately and on time Travel to customer job sites throughout Iowa and surrounding states as needed Preferred Experience 3+ years of heavy equipment repair experience Experience with brands such as Komatsu, Caterpillar, Deere, Volvo, Hitachi, Sennebogen, Liebherr, LiuGong, or similar equipment Strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Qualifications Valid driver's license Strong work ethic and self-motivation Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work outdoors in varying conditions Must be dependable and punctual CDL What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Company service truck Company-provided computer and equipment Paid training and professional development Opportunity for advancement in a rapidly growing company Family-oriented work environment Consistent year-round work About Grass Roots Equipment & Repair Grass Roots Equipment & Repair provides heavy equipment service, rentals, sales, and rebuilds across the Midwest.
