Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking skilled and highly motivated Commercial Generator Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and modification of natural gas and diesel-fired commercial and industrial electric generating systems. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Licensed Electricians strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM), servicing, and inspections on various generator systems and related equipment. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in generators, transfer switches, engines, control panels, and electrical boards. Overhaul and repair generator ends, computerized and electronic ignition systems, and related engine components. Conduct failure analysis and perform emergency field services as needed. Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints. Maintain accurate records by entering and updating information related to work orders in an asset management database. Ensure all work is performed safely and to customer specifications, following OSHA and other safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. We have two openings - we prefer one opening be filled with someone with minimum of two years of experience in the repair, operation, and maintenance of various types of diesel, gasoline, and natural gas generator sets or similar equipment preferred. Experience with different generator brands such as Kohler, Generac, Caterpillar, Cummins or Multiquip is preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and diagnostic tools. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations. Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a HAZMAT endorsement may be required. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
