Position Summary:
MD Landscaping is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our landscape company's maintenance team. This role is responsible for performing thorough preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs across a diverse fleet of vehicles and heavy machinery. Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections, including servicing, greasing, brake work, and general mechanical checks.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on both new and older fleet equipment.
- Conduct corrective repairs and component overhauls such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic valve bodies.
- Maintain and repair a wide range of equipment, including: o Dump trucks o Transport trucks and trailers o Loaders o Excavators o Skid steers o Additional heavy equipment as needed
- Execute field maintenance and on‑site repairs when required.
- Document work completed and communicate equipment status with supervisors and team members.
- Work independently and manage tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Self‑motivated with strong time‑management and communication skills.
- Must supply a personal basic tool set and toolbox; specialty shop tools will be provided.
- Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment with a large, diverse fleet.
