Job Description

Job Overview Join Mutu Logistics Inc, a FedEx Ground Independent Service Provider operating in the Wood River Valley, as a Part-Time Fleet Mechanic. In this critical role, you will perform essential repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and daily inspections on a variety of fleet vehicles. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs promptly. Coordinate repairs requiring specialized equipment or warranty service. Ensure fleet safety and compliance with DOT, FedEx Ground, and company standards. Manage fleet vehicles and maintain prompt, detailed, and accurate service records. Fullfill shop responsibilities such as manage parts inventory and ordering. Support team through good communication, roadside assistance, and specific feedback. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding to meet operational needs. Requirements Proven experience working as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in commercial truck repair and automotive diagnostics required. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspension, and diesel engines. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with service technician procedures for vehicle maintenance for truck drivers; customer service skills are a plus. Certifications or experience related to commercial vehicles, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics or industrial equipment repair are highly desirable. Physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks; comfortable working in various weather conditions; detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
