Job Description
Job Summary Our 5th generation family farm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Mechanic/Operator to assist in daily farm operations, manage equipment, and ensure the well-being of the crops. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy duty trucks and/or industrial equipment repair and operation. This role requires an honest, detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure all machinery operates efficiently. Pay is dependent on experience. Duties Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in vehicles and industrial equipment. DOT truck and trailer maintenance and readiness Ability to diagnose, service and maintain agricultural tractors, implements, support equipment, etc Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs. Utilize schematics to understand complex mechanical systems and troubleshoot effectively. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed. We use the MaintainX app to create work orders, manage maintenance intervals and document repairs Ability and interest to learn the operation of farm equipment and act responsibly in the execution of operational tasks when asked. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects. Requirements Positive attitude. Excellent communication. Experience as a Mechanic. We do not necessarily need someone capable of full engine overhaul (although that would be wonderful), but a person that can systematically maintain a fleet of equipment, make repairs and collaborate with equipment dealership personnel. Familiarity with farm machinery and industrial equipment is highly desirable. Experience in welding, fabrication and assembling mechanical components. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment. Class A CDL (J51 exemption accepted). We will help the right candidate obtain the license. Ability to use farm and industrial equipment (will train). Must adhere to safety protocols while performing duties.
