This position will assist with preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery. Must have a valid driver's license. Previous experience with heavy machinery is a must.
Responsibilities:
- All essential functions, duties and responsibilities will be performed following Columbia Quarry's safety guidelines and practices to be in support of the company's mission, vision, and values Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments Complete all necessary documentation and follow up as required in a timely and orderly manner Maintain work area, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment
Requirements:
- Valid and current Driver's License
- Working knowledge of Caterpillar and Volvo
- Company is consistently updating to new equipment. Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems on heavy equipment using the most recent versions of computer software diagnostic tools and utilize the latest repair capabilities.
- Must possess your own tools to work on heavy machinery
- Mining experience preferred
- 3 years' experience working on heavy equipment
- Experience within the construction industry as a mechanic a plus
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally both verbal and written
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn company computer software and training
- Ability to operate various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling and various shop and electric tools
