Job Description
DOT Inspection Technician -
Semi-Trailers Position Type:
Full-Time |Overnight Shift Available Schedules:
- Tuesday-Saturday | 11:00 PM-8:00 AM
- Sunday-Thursday | 11:00 PM-8:00 AM Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced DOT Inspection Technician to perform inspections and basic maintenance on our semi-trailer fleet.
- Perform DOT inspections on semi-trailers in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
- Inspect trailer brakes, tires, wheels, lights, electrical systems, suspension, air lines, coupling components, and other safety-related equipment.
- Identify and document defects, damage, and out-of-service conditions.
- Complete minor repairs and adjustments when appropriate.
- Determine when equipment requires additional maintenance or repair.
- Clearly document inspection results and repairs performed.
- Maintain accurate inspection and compliance records.
- Communicate equipment status and repair needs to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Help ensure trailers are returned to service safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company and facility safety procedures. Qualifications
- Previous experience with semi-trailer maintenance, DOT inspections, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment repair preferred.
- Working knowledge of trailer brake systems, tires, lighting, electrical systems, suspension, and air systems.
- Ability to identify common DOT safety defects and out-of-service conditions.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently during an overnight shift.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with inspecting and servicing semi-trailers.
AM Pay:
$24.50 - $26.50 per hourBenefits:
