SUMMARY The Install Technician is responsible for the installation of truck and utility equipment based on our customers' specifications. As an Install Technician, you will need to possess the ability to read work instructions and installation directions. You must be able to properly build the equipment and test the performance of that equipment prior to delivering the unit to a final product inspection. Equipment that you will assemble, and install will include, but not limited to; service bodies, snowplows, van interior packages, dump beds, hoists, ladder racks, lift-gates, and other mechanical items. You will be expected to complete jobs within an allocated amount of time, while maintaining quality and a clean organized workspace.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Install equipment per quoted specs, utilizing the ability to read work instructions, installation directions, and CAD drawings.
- Complete proper forms, reports, logs and/or records required prior to the delivery of a unit to a customer.
- Keep accurate time on timecards to assure that the proper time is recorded to each job you perform
- Stay current on education and job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and company sponsored training classes.
- Operates dolly, pallet jack and/or forklift, and overhead crane in loading and unloading inventory and supplies. May operate company vehicle on occasion.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows all prescribed safety regulations.
- Participate in any department meetings, training and workshops for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Follows established company departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvements objectives and safety control standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED. Prefer at least 1-2 years of experience directly related to the primary responsibilities.
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds
- Basic mechanical aptitude, including the use of basic hand tools. Plumbing and 12V wiring experience is a plus
- Fabrication experience is a plus
- Knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems is a plus
- Organizational skills
- Employees are required to provide basic hand tools.
