Integrity Truck & Trailer Repair, a new shop nearing construction/completion in Gary, Indiana, is hiring a full-time Mechanic Technician. Responsibilities of the
Position:
Performing DOT inspections on trucks and trailers Performing repairs identified during DOT Inspection Entering repairs performed in maintenance software Entering parts used in maintenance software Communicating with drivers and other departments in person and via phone calls, emails, text messages Maintaining a clean and organized work area
Qualifications & Interpersonal Skills:
Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred) Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, including maintenance items Working knowledge of or willingness to learn to drive a forklift Working knowledge or willingness to learn repair procedures and best practices Previous trucking experience in maintenance, driving, or managerial role Possess a current/valid CDL (preferred, not required) Experience with trucking maintenance programs (preferred not required) Experience working with owner operators (preferred, not required) Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and follow-up skills Collaborative, team-oriented, service-minded attitude Experience with computer diagnostic programs (preferred, not required)

Position:
This position requires the ability to perform thorough inspections of commercial trucks, trailers, and related equipment. While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to: Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods while inspecting/repairing vehicles and equipment. Climb in and out of truck cabs, onto trailers, and access other elevated surfaces using steps and handholds. Reach, grasp, push, pull, and handle tools, equipment, and components during inspection and repair tasks. Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds such as parts and tools. Occasionally work in confined or awkward spaces, including reaching underneath trucks or trailers to examine components. Tolerate varied periods outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and around active trucking operations, including noise, dust, and moving vehicles.
