The Mobile Equipment Mechanic maintains and repairs all mobile and heavy equipment, including forklifts, shuttle trucks, trailers, pick-up trucks, cranes, and manlifts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Keep work area organized, clean, and safe.
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance work; installing component and part upgrades, completing winterization procedures, and addressing work orders.
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by repairing and adjusting components related to fuel, brake, steering, and hydraulic systems.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Valid driver's license (Required).
- Working knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems, including repair and preventive maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime shifts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No supervisory responsibility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily in the production areas and requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures and a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to tolerate exposure to standard industrial noise and odors common to pipe coating operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Ability to access equipment and areas for repair via ladders, stairs and steps.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work overhead or in confined spaces.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
