Job Description

Right-of-Way Equipment Operator Hoosier Energy Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance, Pension Plan, 401k and 401k Match, Tuition Reimbursement, United States, Indiana, Spencer 211 Indiana Hwy 43 (Show on map) May 22, 2026 POSITION SUMMARY Operates right-of-way clearing equipment and trucks in a safe and timely manner. Maintains clean and safe work areas and right-of-way and maintains good relationships with property owners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates right-of-way equipment, tools and trucks necessary for maintenance of Hoosier Energy's right-of-ways and facilities. Performs assignments involving the maintenance of grounds, fences and structures of Hoosier Energy's line facilities, including but not limited to: Cutting grass and weeds; trimming or removing trees; filling holes and depressions; repairing damaged fences; opening obstructed drainage systems; and operating the necessary vehicles to perform the above. Plans equipment moves as scheduling and weather conditions warrant. Prepares reports and takes notes about the completion of assigned tasks, as well as any other observations regarding the status of Hoosier Energy's line facilities. Participates in training opportunities in order to gain a working knowledge of the General Line Procedures, as well as the functions and layout of the transmission systems and equipment. Makes recommendations to the Coordinator and Manager Transmission Assets & Scheduling about any practices, procedures or requirements that will facilitate maintenance schedules, short- or long-range plans, or any other efficiencies or cost improvements. Acts in an exemplary manner in order to maintain and promote safe practices and procedures and participates in scheduled safety meetings, CPR and first aid classes. Performs other duties as assigned; assists in general right-of-way work as assigned when not engaged in operating heavy right-of-way equipment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
4 years of work experience involving successful operation of heavy right-of-way clearing equipment and heavy trucks used in transporting equipment minimum
Skills and Abilities:
