448 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 516 This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) upon hire.

REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Two (2) years of related experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, brake adjustments, and fluid checks Conduct on-site repairs during field operations and provide emergency roadside support to minimize downtime Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage; report equipment status and recommend replacements or upgrades Operate heavy equipment as needed to test repairs and perform operational tasks, ensuring equipment functionality Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid driver's License A valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate in order to qualify, and must obtain: Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Class A, Endorsement N
  • Tank Vehicles, and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate within six months CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification Please attach a current copy of your CDL license to this application
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be accessible to on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies. Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies. Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner. All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
