Job Description
We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a full-time, on-site role in New Orleans, LA. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and a variety of heavy equipment, including cranes. Day-to-day tasks include regular inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. Collaboration with team members to ensure fleet readiness and adherence to safety standards is also essential. Qualifications Proficiency in Diesel Mechanics and working with heavy equipment Experience in Vehicle Maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing diesel engines Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance Familiarity with tools, techniques, and safety protocols for maintaining heavy machinery Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and perform detailed mechanical repairs Experience working with crane equipment or similar machinery is highly desirable High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred Certifications or licenses related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance are a plus Availability to be on-call alternating weekends with the current mechanic if a machine needs immediate repairs on a jobsite.
