Job Overview:
Our team is looking to add a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This is a full-time, shop-based position maintaining and repairing truck mounted industrial equipment. We're a leading OEM of specialized truck-mounted industrial equipment, backed by strong stakeholders with a reputation for durability and innovation for over 50 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on truck-mounted vacuum trucks
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform scheduled PM inspections on chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air, and water systems
- Conduct DOT inspections and complete repairs to OEM/DOT standards
- Perform and document "check-in" and "check-out" inspections on rental fleet units to "Ready-to-Rent" status
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment
- Occasional travel for field service calls and factory training
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable heavy equipment, truck, or vacuum truck mechanic experience
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and work from electrical/hydraulic schematics
- Experience performing DOT inspections a plus
- Basic computer skills and strong documentation habits
- Self-motivated, organized, excellent communicator, and true team player
- Must own basic hand tools and toolbox (company provides all large/specialized tools)
- Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus but not required)
