  • Full-time Job Summary Multi-state heavy construction firm has immediate opening for an experienced mechanic in their Eldersburg, MD equipment yard.
This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a vast inventory of heavy construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and the aptitude to develop their area of expertise in the tunneling industry. Responsibilities and Duties Repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, diesel equipment, including (but not limited to) trucks, tractors, and cranes, Will provide training for the right candidate in the repair and maintenance of underground/tunneling equipment, Perform equipment maintenance at the facility, as well as jobsites, Troubleshoot equipment problems including (but not limited to) mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. Qualifications and Skills Must possess practical skills and proficient knowledge to diagnose, repair and maintain a vast inventory of construction equipment, Must have basic knowledge of computers and applicable software programs, Must be able to read instructions and communicate effectively, Must exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety, Must be able to work independently and deal with changing priorities, Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, Potential candidates must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, Must have reliable transportation.
