Job Description

Cruz Associates, Inc. of Yorktown, Virginia has an open position for qualified candidates for an Industrial Maintenance Technician I. The job location is at the Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center , Maryland.
Scope of Performance:
Qualified technician to support maintenance, repair, and installation of explosive and chemical processing equipment. Technicians will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Technicians shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. This position will include the possibility of overtime and shift work depending on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and facility systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues. Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely, cost-effective repairs to minimize downtime. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures before they impact operations. Install, modify, and maintain production equipment, machinery, and support systems. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams. Perform equipment alignments, bearing replacements, belt and chain adjustments, and lubrication activities. Assist with equipment upgrades, facility improvement projects, and new equipment installations. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory of repair parts. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company policies. Collaborate with production personnel to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support production during equipment breakdowns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Education and Experience -
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to gain/maintain a Secret Clearance Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and respirator fit test Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class Pipefitting/electrical/hydraulic experience required. Licenses are a plus Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs)
