Forklift Technician / Material Handling Equipment Mechanic About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Forklift Technician to join our growing maintenance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of material handling equipment, including electric, propane, and diesel-powered forklifts. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and taking pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently. Whether your background is in forklifts, heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or industrial machinery, we'd like to speak with you if you have strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues Troubleshoot engine, transmission, steering, braking, and drive systems Repair and replace motors, pumps, cylinders, hoses, bearings, chains, and other components Service electric, propane (LPG), and diesel-powered lift trucks Complete safety inspections and identify equipment deficiencies Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics Maintain accurate repair records and work orders Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status with supervisors Qualifications 3+ years of experience repairing forklifts, material handling equipment, heavy equipment, construction equipment, or similar mobile machinery Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Experience performing preventative maintenance and major repairs Ability to diagnose equipment failures efficiently Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment Valid driver's license Preferred Experience Electric forklift repair Propane (LPG) systems Diesel engines AC/DC electrical systems Hydraulic diagnostics Mobile equipment service Welding and light fabrication OEM experience with Toyota, Crown, Yale, Hyster, Raymond, Cat, Clark, Mitsubishi, Doosan, Komatsu, or similar brands What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and enjoys solving problems. You take pride in quality workmanship, work safely, and understand the importance of minimizing equipment downtime.
