$28.50-$47.49/hour (based on experience) If you have mechanical experience and want to work hands-on with heavy equipment in a role that builds toward a technician career—this is your opportunity. At Milton CAT, Yard Service Technicians play a key role in ensuring machines are fully prepared, configured, and ready for customer use—while supporting day-to-day yard operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll apply your mechanical skills while building experience that supports long-term growth within our service team. Where You'll Make an Impact Support Equipment Set-Up & Inspection Assist with configuring, preparing, and checking equipment prior to delivery Perform basic mechanical adjustments and inspections Help ensure machines meet quality and readiness standards Work Hands-On with Heavy Equipment Gain experience with excavators, dozers, loaders, and attachments Apply mechanical skills in a real-world service environment Build familiarity across a wide range of equipment Support Yard & Equipment Operations Move, stage, and organize equipment within the yard Contribute to efficient equipment flow and readiness Support both service and customer needs A Role with Variety Balance yard operations with light mechanical work Stay active throughout the day Work across multiple tasks and responsibilities Build Toward a Technician Career Strengthen mechanical and equipment knowledge Gain experience relevant to shop and field technician roles Learn within a structured, team-focused service environment
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do As an Equipment Set-Up & Inspection / Yard Technician, you'll help ensure equipment is ready, functional, and delivery-ready: Load and unload heavy equipment and attachments Fuel, jumpstart, and prepare machines for delivery Perform basic maintenance, setup, and inspection checks Install and adjust attachments in the prep/shop area Coordinate equipment staging, movement, and inventory Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard Process equipment documentation and tracking
Qualifications:
