You will be the primary technical force ensuring the operational readiness of a diverse fleet of heavy civil construction equipment and machinery. This dual-impact role offers the variety of complex mechanical diagnostics alongside custom structural fabrication, providing a stable, year-round environment for a master of the trade. You will play a vital role in minimizing field downtime for a rapidly expanding contractor. How You Will Make anImpact:
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. Fabricate and weld structural steel components, equipment attachments, and jobsite materials to support field crews. Execute rigorous preventative maintenance schedules and routine inspections to ensure peak machinery performance. Interpret technical drawings, measurements, and work orders to assemble or repair shop-built items with high precision. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop yard environment in strict accordance with OSHA standards. Coordinate equipment status updates and material needs with supervisors to streamline shop workflow. Utilize advanced hand and power tools to cut, fit, and grind metal components for custom construction solutions.Required Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or welder/fabricator. Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Proficiency in MIG welding (TIG or Stick experience preferred). Active mechanic license or documented union affiliation. Valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in an outdoor shop environment.Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience specifically within the civil construction or sitework industry. Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Advanced certifications in welding or specialized heavy equipment systems. Union affiliation.Compensation & Benefits:
