Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Facilities and Equipment Technician who will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of small engines, fleet vehicles, and equipment. This role will also provide exceptional service delivery to the operational teams and management of the facilities. Must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. Responsibilities Maintains and repairs vehicles, including trucks, skid steers, wheel loaders, excavators, and trailers. Ensures that equipment and vehicles preventative maintenance is completed on schedule and according to established standards and procedures. Preventative maintenance includes oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks. Maintains and repairs equipment, including lawn mowers, line trimmers, aerators, snow blowers, blowers, chain saws, edgers, and hedge trimmers. Inspect and diagnose engine problems. Repair and replace engine parts. Ensures that equipment and vehicles are repaired accurately with zero defects and will not return to the shop for the same issue. Clean and power wash equipment, engines, and trucks. Order parts and supplies. Follows the weekly schedule and accounts for work hours in a timely and accurate manner by adhering to timekeeping procedures. Documents all activity for vehicle and equipment per standards and procedures. This includes repairs, preventive maintenance, assets at third parties, adding and disposing of assets. Maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized shop. Delivers equipment and vehicles to third party vendors for repairs and work outside our internal repair capabilities. Management of the outside storage of materials and debris. Communicates any concerns to the Facilities and Equipment Manager, including safety, quality, and operational issues. Collaborates with Operations Managers to prioritize repairs to ensure the crews have the necessary tools to succeed. Job Requirements Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines Self-motivated with a strong desire to work hard, high attention to detail, follow-through, the desire to learn, and the ability to prioritize. Strong mechanical aptitude. Working knowledge of small engine equipment and vehicles. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 2 years of experience in small engine repair. 2 years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance. Bilingual Spanish/English ability preferred, but not required. Basic computer skills for data entry. Valid driver's license with approved driving record. Physical Demands and Work Environment The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, stand, walk, handle, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees in this position are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moving mechanical parts. Employees in this position are occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, wind, and rain. Requires good manual dexterity. Excellent stamina is preferred. Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to one hundred pounds.

$45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
