After merging with Liberty Waste Solutions, Wall Recycling rebranded under the Liberty Waste Solutions name. That brought together 13 separate companies—including Elite Waste Services, Capital Materials & Recycling, Rowlands Landfill, Gold Hill Landfill, Coastal Waste Services, Trash 4 Troops, SRWS, Don's Trash, AAA Hauling, Portable Toilets of Fayetteville, and ClearAway Waste Solutions. Role:
The Mechanic B position is a critical role responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves working with various types of machinery, including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions. The successful candidate will play a key part in minimizing downtime by performing preventive maintenance and timely repairs. Collaboration with other team members and departments is essential to coordinate maintenance schedules and share technical knowledge. Ultimately, this role ensures that all mechanical assets operate efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a formal apprenticeship or vocational training program in mechanics or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from a recognized mechanical or automotive institution (e.g., ASE certification). Experience working with heavy machinery or specialized equipment. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Basic welding and fabrication skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to mechanical work.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they lead to failures. Diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate tools and techniques, including computerized diagnostic equipment when applicable. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with supervisors and other technicians to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Skills:
The required skills enable the mechanic to effectively diagnose and repair mechanical issues, ensuring equipment reliability and safety. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and mechanical systems allows for accurate troubleshooting and efficient problem resolution. Strong manual dexterity and familiarity with various hand and power tools are essential for performing repairs and maintenance tasks. Preferred skills such as welding and experience with computerized systems enhance the mechanic's ability to handle complex repairs and maintain detailed records. Additionally, knowledge of safety standards ensures that all work is performed in a manner that protects both the mechanic and the equipment. Day shift and occassional weekend work
