The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in equipment maintenance and repair, particularly with heavy machinery and diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Equipment Technician will work closely with other technicians and operators to maintain high standards of equipment performance. Duties Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on various types of heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers and Caterpillar machinery. Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, including power tools and soldering equipment. Perform tire service, including mounting, balancing, and repairing tires as necessary. Execute automotive repair tasks as needed to ensure optimal functionality of equipment. Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed on equipment. Qualifications Proven experience in diesel engine repair or heavy equipment operation is preferred. Familiarity with tire service procedures is a plus. Proficient in the use of power tools and basic hand tools for repair tasks. Knowledge of automotive repair principles is advantageous. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety practices. Previous experience in a dealership or similar environment is desirable but not mandatory.
