Transmission Technician

In business since 2003, Tick Performance, Inc. is a long tenured, quickly growing GM LTx and LSx performance specialist located in Mount Airy, NC, about 90 minutes north of Charlotte. Transmission Technician We're the leader in Tremec Six-Speed Transmission parts and builds, with our shop car holding the current World Record for the fastest H-pattern in the ¼-mile. We're seeking an experienced and motivated mechanic who can repair/build Tremec six-speed manual transmissions. Our ideal candidate can handle the fast pace work environment with prior experience rebuilding manual transmissions. We offer anything from a simple rebuild to performance-oriented transmission builds. Those with strong mechanical abilities, professional attitudes, and work ethic and who are excited to learn about what we offer are welcome to apply. Duties Performs transmission repair as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with company time allowances and standards. Inspect and Diagnose the cause of the malfunction. Remove and disassemble the transmission and perform repairs Advises Salesmen immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be made. Obtain needed parts via online orders Saves and tags parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer. Documents work performed and recommended on the repair order. Requirements High-School Education or GED Formal mechanic training is a plus but not required Transmission rebuilding experience is a plus but not required. Must have reliable transportation and pass a drug test Must be able to meet deadlines independently but be able to communicate and work with others when needed We're seeking an individual who wants to join our fun, fast team in Mount Airy, NC. This position is on-site only. Standard working hours, 8:30 am-5pm M-F. Pay varies based on experience.
