Job Description:

A to Z Equipment Rentals is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently. You will work with a variety of equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, telehandlers, boom lifts, loaders, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. Perform service calls with company provided truck and fuel card. Diagnose issues and make necessary repairs or replacements to keep equipment running smoothly. Inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine the root cause of issues. Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and specialized equipment to carry out repairs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work. Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards. Order parts and materials as needed, and ensure inventory is maintained. Assist with the training of junior mechanics as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required). Vocational training or certification in heavy equipment mechanics is a plus. Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery. Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Ability to work independently and solve complex mechanical problems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. OSHA or safety certification (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy parts and tools (up to 50 lbs). Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments. Capable of bending, squatting, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
