Job Description
Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic is seeking a motivated and skilled Shop Technician to join our service team at our Walnut Cove facility. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining crushing, screening, conveying, washing, and environmental equipment. The Shop Technician will work closely with the Service Manager and Shop Foreman to ensure equipment is prepared, repaired, and returned to customers safely and efficiently. Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic's main service facility in Walnut Cove is equipped for heavy repairs, machine rebuilds, and custom fabrication work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues on heavy equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and complete machine rebuilds. Repair and service crushers, screeners, conveyors, trommels, grinders, and related equipment. Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and component replacement as needed. Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used equipment. Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders. Assist with machine setup, testing, and quality checks before customer delivery. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all OSHA, MSHA, company, and customer safety policies. Attend manufacturer training and stay current on equipment updates and technology. Support field service technicians and parts personnel when required. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or diesel-powered machinery. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and troubleshooting procedures. Ability to weld and use oxy-fuel cutting equipment. Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics. Familiarity with aggregate, recycling, forestry, or material processing equipment preferred. MSHA certification or ability to obtain certification. Valid driver's license. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team. High school diploma or GED required. North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.•
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
