Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance and repair team. Applicants must have at least 3 years experience in material handling or equipment repair. Applicants must have their own tools and a clean driving record. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial equipment, including forklifts, heavy machinery, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery and utilize your mechanical skills to keep our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts, cranes, excavators, tractors, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, OEM manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes quickly. Repair and replace components such as engine, hydraulics, drive line, brakes and electrical systems on various machinery. Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, soldering, and assembly of parts as needed for repairs or modifications. Use hand tools and power tools skillfully for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of equipment components. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to track repairs and scheduled servicing. Assist in heavy lifting operations safely while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment repair, automotive diagnostics, or industrial machinery maintenance. Dealership experience or familiarity with OEM parts and schematics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, diesel engines, tire service, brake repair, and alignment procedures. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience with farm machinery or automotive repair is a plus. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and service software related to heavy equipment maintenance. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards; familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures is advantageous.
