Are you an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in keeping big equipment running safely and efficiently? East Coast Contracting, Inc. is looking for a skilled, dependable mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on position where your experience matters. You'll work on a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment, trucks, utility vehicles, and small engines in a fast-paced construction environment. Our fleet includes equipment from Komatsu, Case, John Deere, Doosan, Takeuchi, Kubota , and other major manufacturers. If you enjoy troubleshooting problems, making repairs, keeping equipment in top condition, and being the person the team can count on when equipment goes down, we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment, fleet vehicles, and small engines. Perform preventive maintenance and routine service to keep equipment operating reliably. Diagnose and repair diesel, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems . Use diesel diagnostic software/laptop computers to perform and interpret diagnostic tests. Inspect equipment and identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components. Repair or replace parts as needed following manufacturer specifications. Troubleshoot and repair emissions systems, hydraulics, undercarriages, cylinders, final drives, pumps, and electronic systems . Complete repairs identified on work orders. Perform safety inspections and equipment checks. Perform welding and fabrication as needed. Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and service calls. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and service operations. Maintain a clean, organized and safe shop and work area. Help maintain shop inventory and pick up repair parts from various locations. Operate and maintain service vehicles, tools, trailers, generators, pumps, pressure washers, tractors, mowers, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and other equipment. Prioritize multiple repair and maintenance projects while keeping equipment needs moving forward. Work overtime when required to support field operations.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 3-5
years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty equipment, small equipment, and fleet vehicles. Proven experience working with diesel-powered equipment. Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems. Welding and fabrication experience. Ability to read and complete work orders and maintain accurate service records. Ability to work independently with limited supervision while also being a strong team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Dependable, safety-minded, and committed to quality workmanship. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond to changing equipment needs. Must provide your own appropriate mechanic's tool set. Valid driver's license required.
