Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Forklift Technician (Road Technician) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial and heavy equipment, including forklifts, and other machinery used in various operational settings. Your expertise will ensure that equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse machinery, utilize your mechanical and electrical skills, and contribute to the seamless operation of our fleet across multiple locations. A proactive attitude and strong customer service skills are essential as you collaborate with team members and clients to deliver top-tier maintenance solutions. Duties Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on forklifts, and industrial machinery using OEM schematics and technical manuals Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment such as transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical components Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving propane engines, electrical control systems, and vehicle electronics Test drive vehicles and equipment post-repair to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and inventory of parts used during repairs Maintain clean driving record Must provide own hand tools Skills Proficiency in reading schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulics, and transmissions Hands-on experience with power tools for precise repairs Skilled in welding, soldering, fabrication, and assembly of mechanical components Familiarity with electrical systems in industrial equipment including troubleshooting sensors and wiring harnesses Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance tasks
Qualifications :
- Previous experience with LP Gas, Diesel, & Electric forklift experience a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic repairs on equipment
- Ability to operate power tools and other machinery safely
- Proficient in heavy lifting techniques and able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Familiarity with schematics
