Job Description

Build Your Career with Nebraska's Caterpillar Dealer NMC Cat is hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician (Shop) in Omaha, Nebraska. Whether your background is in heavy equipment, diesel trucks, agriculture, automotive repair, or military maintenance, we want to hear from you. Experience with Caterpillar equipment is not required. We provide industry-leading training and development opportunities to help you succeed. What You'll Do As a Shop Technician, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild heavy equipment in a clean, professional shop environment.
Responsibilities include:
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on heavy equipment Perform repairs, maintenance, and component rebuilds Use service manuals, diagnostic software, and technical resources to identify and resolve equipment issues Complete service documentation and communicate repair recommendations Order necessary parts and follow repair procedures Work with technical support teams to resolve complex issues Maintain a safe and organized work area What We're Looking For Experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel-powered equipment, vehicles, or machinery Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to use diagnostic tools and service information Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience We Value Heavy equipment Agricultural equipment Diesel trucks Construction equipment Military vehicle maintenance Automotive repair If you have transferable mechanical experience, we encourage you to apply.
