Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Reefer Mechanic to join our maintenance team, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration units and related heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive and industrial systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of specialized equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards across our fleet and facilities. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair refrigeration units, diesel engines, hydraulics, suspension, and air brakes. Perform preventive maintenance on reefer units, and vehicle fleets such as tractor-trailers. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues effectively.. Perform tire service, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, brake repairs, and assembly of various components. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times. Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems to improve operational efficiency. Skills Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair. Dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge across multiple systems including hydraulics, Freon, diesel engines, and electrical systems. Proficiency with schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Skilled in welding, soldering, fabrication techniques using various tools. Experience in vehicle maintenance including tire service and brake repair. Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and power tools. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation when interacting with clients or team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly; comfortable working in physically demanding environments. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in automotive or industrial maintenance seeking a dynamic role involving diverse equipment repairs and technical challenges.
