Job Description

Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic | $40-$55/hr + Benefits + Profit Sharing | Brentwood, NY We are actively seeking an experienced Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a well-established and reputable construction organization located near Brentwood, NY. This is a full-time shop-based role supporting a fleet of heavy construction equipment and commercial trucks used in paving and infrastructure operations. This position is ideal for a senior-level technician who is confident diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment in a fast-paced construction environment. What You'll Be Working On Heavy construction equipment including paving and earthmoving machinery Commercial trucks and support vehicles used in field operations Preventative maintenance, inspections, and full-service repairs Advanced troubleshooting of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Identifying and resolving equipment failures to minimize downtime on active job sites Leading by example in shop safety, efficiency, and quality standards Job Requirements 5+ years of heavy equipment mechanic/repair experience Strong experience performing scheduled maintenance and repairs Intermediate to advanced knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems Experience working on heavy equipment and commercial trucks Ability to diagnose complex equipment issues using practical and technical methods Valid driver's license required Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Experience Prior experience in construction equipment repair (paving, earthmoving, or infrastructure fleets) Experience with mixed fleets including trucks and heavy construction machinery Leadership or lead technician experience considered a strong asset What We Offer $40 - $55 per hour depending on experience Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance Profit sharing plan Paid vacation Stable, year-round employment with a reputable organization Opportunity for long-term growth and leadership development
Schedule Day Shift:
