Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Hourly rate negotiable based upon experience. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, and farm machinery. Perform routine maintenance on industrial equipment and vehicles, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications. Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics. Conduct repairs on transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components. Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes and ensure proper functionality after repairs. Fabricate parts as needed using welding techniques and power tools. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs. Maintain accurate records of all service work performed on equipment. Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment repair; on-site experience is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engine repair Familiarity with various types of machinery including tractor-trailers, forklifts, and industrial equipment. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Experience with electrical systems and soldering is desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
