Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Mechanic C to join our maintenance team at Blue Star Services, LLC. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of mechanical systems and equipment, with a strong commitment to safety and quality. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of our rental fleet, which includes various machinery and vehicles.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance on rental equipment, including inspections, oil changes, and filter replacements. Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various types of equipment and vehicles.
Equipment Overhaul:
Participate in more complex repairs and overhauls under the supervision of senior mechanics, gaining hands-on experience in engine and transmission repairs. Assist in disassembling and reassembling equipment components as needed.
Preventive Maintenance:
Follow scheduled preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of rental equipment. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and labor hours.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.
Inventory Management:
Assist in managing parts inventory by reporting low stock levels and assisting in the ordering of necessary parts and supplies. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
Customer Interaction:
Occasionally interact with customers to understand equipment issues and provide feedback regarding repair timelines and maintenance needs. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding the status of repairs and any equipment concerns.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to equipment maintenance and repair. Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge in mechanics and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a mechanic role or relevant experience in equipment maintenance. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Valid driver's license.
