About Us We are a well-established paving company known for high-quality work, reliable service, and a strong commitment to safety. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Mechanic to join our team and help keep our fleet in top shape. Position Overview As our Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of equipment, including:
  • Small equipment: plate compactors, saws, generators, power tools
  • Mid-sized equipment: skid steers, mini-excavators, trailers
  • Heavy equipment: pavers, rollers, dump trucks, loaders, backhoes You will work both in our on-site shop and in the field as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on all equipment
  • Maintain service records and parts inventory
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and DOT standards
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work closely with operators and management to prioritize repairs
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic working on construction or paving equipment
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain) and ability to be insured through company's insurance policy.
