About WCR:
WCR is a manufacturer and service provider of heat exchanger solutions. The company specializes in the design, manufacturing, and service of plates and gaskets for all makes and models of plate heat exchangers. These heat exchangers offer our clients high reliability of heat transfer, low capital investment and installation costs, reducing maintenance, operating costs, wear, and corrosion.
Job Summary:
The Lead Wet Room Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of a diverse range of equipment. This role requires advanced mechanical skills, a thorough understanding of diagnostic tools, and the ability to work independently. The Lead Wet Room Technician also provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on equipment to identify issues.
  • Conduct complex repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other components.
  • Ensure all repairs are performed to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrications, and adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and repair techniques.
  • Provide technical support and guidance Gasket Room Technicians I and II.
  • Complete detailed service reports and work orders for each job.
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager regarding job progress and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure that all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in safety training and drills as required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced technicians.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members to improve overall shop performance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certification or degree in mechanical, automotive, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair software.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle tools and machinery controls.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and stooping may be required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions typical of a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing/production floor environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machining fluids.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

Work Status:
Full Time - Work hours are Monday through Friday and depend on assigned shift. Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
