Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Journeyman Mechanic to join our repair shop team located in Scappoose, Oregon. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation based on experience. Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repair on diesel semis, tractors, heavy equipment, and light-duty trucks. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on a wide variety of equipment. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions. Perform fabrication and welding as needed to support repairs and equipment upkeep. Maintain accurate service records, including parts and product usage. Assist other mechanics as needed while also being able to work independently. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
Valid Oregon Driver's License (ODL) with a clean, insurable driving record. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to handle and carry objects up to 80 lbs. Ability to work both indoors in a shop environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse team. Commitment to safety and attention to detail on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Journeyman-level mechanic experience. Familiarity with farm and nursery equipment and implements. Experience with fabrication; welding skills are a strong plus.
Work Hours:
40+ hours per week; additional hours may be required during peak nursery seasons.

Pay:
$30.00 - $36.50 per hour
