Videos Duties Help Performs full range of overhaul and repair work to vehicles which are powered by gasoline and diesel engines, btery-electric motors or gas-electric power units such as warehouse tractors, scooters, mobile industrial and fixed industrial equipment. Overhauls engines by grinding valves, fitting and installing wrist pins, bearings, gears, pistons, rings, sleeves, ses, seals, etc. Performs major and minor overhaul of all types of standard and automic transmissions. Performs preventive maintenance as required. Repair involves working on hydraulic, pneumic and mechanical systems and controls. Inspects and troubleshoots equipment, servicing and making repairs including removing and replacing new or rebuilt assemblies, such as voltage regulors, alternors/generors, brake cylinders, etc., removing and cleaning fuel tanks and sparkplugs. Overhauls and repairs power and gravity driven conveyors, carousel sortion racks, gasoline and electric driven generors, compressors and welders, gasoline space heers, pallet jacks, floor jacks, shrink ovens, and scales. The SOE and minimum qualificions for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision: I perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as cleaning, disassembling, modifying, adjusting, repairing, replacing and reassembling of parts and equipment such as hydraulic lifts, specialized "reach-in" stock selector trucks, cargo transporters, hoisters various types of cranes and repairs hydraulic, pneumic and mechanical systems and controls. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience th transles directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Effort:

Is required to stand, stoop, bend, stretch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifts items th weigh up to 100 pounds.

Working Conditions:

Works inside (with or without heing or air conditioning) and outside; occasionally exposed to bad weher. Works a majority of time on concrete floors and in dirty, greasy and noisy areas. Is exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks and burns. Is subject to burns from acids, hot metals, flying metal splinters, eye strain, and severe temperure changes when working close to he, then returning to indoor or outdoor work locions. Working conditions are a normal part of the job and are considered in the evaluion. While deployed may be required to opere a fork lift up to 5% of the time. Additional informion This is an Expeditionary Civilian (EC) position, and the incumbent designed as (EE, NCE, etc.) . In the event of a crisis situion, the incumbent may be required to deploy via temporary reassignment or be required to stay in place to support contingency operions.
