Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a Field Service Technician III to join our team. This role involves providing on-site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of Forklifts and related equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, along with experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. This position offers the opportunity to work in diverse environments, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely to meet client needs. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment (primarily forklifts). Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot issues related to electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and diesel engines. Maintain and repair OEM equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics. Execute routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, part replacement, assembly, and system inspections to ensure optimal operation of machinery. Utilize fabrication skills for custom repairs or modifications when necessary. Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with industry standards. Document service work performed accurately in service logs or digital systems. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs. Qualifications Proven experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar machinery; dealership experience is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in troubleshooting / diagnostics, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and welding. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex equipment issues. Familiarity with construction equipment servicing and heavy lifting procedures. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other maintenance tools. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using electrical diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting methods. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions. Valid driver's license required; CDL not required but helpful. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and to Service Manager / Parts Manager for proper billing & parts procurement. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to safety and quality standards while delivering exceptional service to clients.
