We are seeking a skilled Gearbox Technician to join Malloy. This team member will be responsible for the inspection, disassembly, repair, rebuilding, testing, and assembly of electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, and related rotating equipment. Knowledge and experience in the automotive, diesel, and agriculture industries are applicable. Job:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair AC and DC electric motors. Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild industrial gearboxes. Replace bearings, seals, gears, shafts, and other mechanical components. Perform motor winding inspections and assist with motor rewinds when required. Measure critical tolerances using precision measuring instruments. Conduct vibration, insulation resistance, and electrical testing on motors. Assemble equipment according to manufacturer specifications. Maintain accurate repair records and inspection reports. Operate shop equipment including presses, hoists, bearing heaters, lathes, and balancing equipment. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and service manuals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow company safety procedures and OSHA regulations. Assist with field service work as required. Communicate repair findings and recommendations to supervisors and customers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electromechanical technology, or a related field preferred. Experience repairing electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, or rotating equipment preferred. Ability to read measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus. Valid driver's license preferred. Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and subject to quarterly screening. Pass a pre-employment background check.
