Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety across multiple operational areas. Candidates with dealership experience, automotive diagnostics, or service technician backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply. The Equipment Technician will play a vital role in supporting our operations through expert equipment maintenance and repair. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and OEM manuals. Repair or replace components including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and diesel engines. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance devices to execute repairs effectively. Conduct alignment procedures and hydraulics system repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes after repairs or adjustments. Maintain detailed service records and document repair procedures for compliance and future reference. Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades. Support customer service efforts by providing technical expertise during service calls or onsite repairs. Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance is required. Dealership experience in automotive or industrial equipment is highly desirable. Familiarity with fabrication techniques, welding, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and tire service is preferred. Knowledge of Caterpillar, OEM standards, schematics reading, and vehicle diagnostics will be advantageous. Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, or similar machinery is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in hand tools, power tools, soldering, welding, and heavy lifting tasks. Prior service technician experience in automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance is beneficial.
