Job Description

Mobile Mechanic For over 50 years, Marine Repair Services-Container Maintenance Corporation has provided an array of customer programs including depot services, equipment sales, trucking, refrigerated services, and maintenance and repair with the nation's largest M&R footprint. MRS-CMC is heavily invested in both Marine and Rail sectors. With a focus on family values, safety and customer service, MRS-CMC currently has depots in 12 cities throughout the Southeast and Gulf regions and over 40 Maintenance and Repair sites throughout the Northeast, Southeast, Southern and Gulf regions. We are seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of mechanic experience, with a strong understanding of FMCSA regulations and a keen eye for detail. As a Mobile Mechanic, you will be responsible for a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety and functionality of various vehicles and equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Performing FMCSA inspection and repairs according to DOT regulations
  • Conducting wheel end repairs (wheel seals, tires, cam shafts, etc.)
  • Handling tires of various sizes (10.00-20, 11X22.5, 11R22.5)
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical components (marker lights, wiring, etc.)
  • Repairing and maintaining locking devices (pins, twist-locks, latches, etc.)
  • Servicing landing legs, braces, and suspensions (adjustable/nonadjustable radius rods, spring hangers/equalizers, etc.)
  • Diagnosing and repairing air system components (air valves, air chambers, air lines/hoses, ABS systems)
  • Performing structural repairs (welding, cutting, inserting, etc.)
  • Handling repairs on overseas cargo containers
  • Repairing and replacing flooring sections and plating
  • Replacing and straightening cross members/floor supports
  • Repairing panels (side, nose, roof) through replacement, patching, and welding
  • Straightening and replacing corner posts
  • Replacing corner castings
  • Repairing and replacing doors, including hardware and structural components
  • Straightening, inserting, and replacing headers, top, and bottom rails
  • Other tasks as assigned by management Job Requirements
  • Minimum of one year of mechanic experience, preferably in a similar mechanic role
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT requirements is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a mobile setting
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
