About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Your proficiency in using diagnostic tools and your commitment to quality will be essential to success. Responsibilities Conduct advanced diagnostics and perform intricate repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, including CAN bus and ECM. Execute engine overhauls, rebuilds, and complex repairs with precision, contributing to the longevity and efficiency of equipment. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and service manuals to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, minimizing downtime. Operate cranes and specialized equipment to facilitate high-level maintenance tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency. Provide expert communication to customers, delivering detailed diagnostics and service recommendations that build trust and satisfaction. Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance and facilitating future maintenance. Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED. 5+ years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment, diesel, or hydraulic system repair. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Demonstrated proficiency in advanced diagnostics and complex repairs, including CAN bus and ECM. Ability to provide a full set of professional tools suitable for the job. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle. Preferred Skills Possession of multiple ASE certifications, including T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and T8, or Master Diesel Technician status. Previous experience as a lead technician, supervisor, or in shop management. Proven expertise in field service or mobile repair environments. Exceptional communication and customer-facing skills, with experience leading projects on job sites.
