Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Victoria, TX, SFM specializes in repairs and maintenance for industrial diesel/LPG/electric engines/motors across a wide range of equipment platforms. With our recent expansion into the Corpus Christi area , we are seeking a motivated, independent, and growth-oriented technician to join our team. Position Overview The Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Forklift Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on forklifts, heavy equipment, and related diesel and LPG engines. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, efficient, and capable of working independently to complete assigned jobs. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts, heavy equipment, with diesel/LPG/electric engines/motors. Communicate effectively with the Parts Department for work order needs. Accurately document all work performed on each job through service software (Ipad). Maintain a clean and safe work environment . Take direction and provide regular updates to the Branch/Service Manager. Operate and maintain a service truck for field work. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment or forklift mechanic. Must have own basic tools to perform required work. Experience using diagnostic computers. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Physically capable of lifting overhead and performing tasks independently. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed. High energy and efficiency with a strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Welding ability (MIG/Stick) - not required but a plus. Broad experience working across multiple types of heavy equipment. Compensation & Benefits Pay based on experience and skill level.
