40 hours per week Position Overview Texas Mixer Trucks is seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic - Brakes & Tires Specialist to join our growing team. This position will primarily focus on the inspection, removal, installation, and maintenance of heavy-duty truck tires and brake components on concrete mixer trucks and other commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with heavy-duty trucks and be comfortable performing tire and brake repairs independently while assisting other mechanics with general maintenance and repair tasks as needed. Primary Responsibilities Remove and install heavy-duty truck tires on steer, drive, lift, and trailer axles. Inspect, diagnose, and replace brake components, including: Brake drums Brake discs/rotors Brake pads and shoes Wheel seals Hubs and bearings Slack adjusters and related brake hardware Perform brake inspections and ensure proper adjustment and operation. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all shop safety procedures and company standards. Additional Responsibilities Assist other mechanics with truck repairs and maintenance. Perform oil changes and preventative maintenance services. Install and replace truck parts and components. Help with vehicle inspections and repair preparation. Support the refurbishment and reconditioning of commercial trucks as needed. QualificationsRequired Experience working on heavy-duty commercial trucks. Knowledge of heavy-duty tire removal and installation procedures. Experience replacing and servicing brake drums, discs, pads, shoes, seals, bearings, and related components. Ability to safely operate tire-changing equipment and shop tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift heavy components and work in a physically demanding environment. Reliable transportation and strong attendance record. Preferred Experience working on concrete mixer trucks. CDL (Class A or B) is a plus but not required. Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus. Benefits Full-time, stable employment.
