We currently seek experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics for our Equipment Yard in South Houston. Candidates must be willing to travel to out of town construction project sites for temporary assignments. This role requires detail-oriented individuals capable of diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.   • Maintain and repair various types of equipment, including but not limited to heavy machinery, vehicles, and power tools.
  • Maintain appropriate company records to document equipment maintenance, service and repair using electronic mobile devices (i.e. work orders completed on iPad).
  • Working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Work area and equipment housekeeping.
  • Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects and repair all types of construction equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment in a field environment (i.e. lubrication and replacement of brakes, belts, hoses, filters, fluids, and engine tune-up).
  • Dismantles and reassembles systems on heavy construction equipment.
  • Identify excessive damage or wear on equipment.
  • Replace defective engines and subassemblies.
  • Test and inspect overhauled equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Push and/or pull tool boxes to position them while working on equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment.
  • Transport materials, goods, or equipment to designated locations.
  • Loads, transports, unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with the assembly or disassembly of equipment as needed.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
  • Perform maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
  • Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or customers. Skills
  • Proficient in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. Includes different forms of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to; skid steers, loaders, dozers, graders, generators, water trucks, fuel trucks, lube trucks, forklifts, aerial work platforms, scissor lifts, heavy haul trailers, passenger vehicles, heavy-haul trucks, yard mules, excavators, backhoes, trenchers, pile drivers, ATVs, etc.
  • Various diagnostic tools, may include, but not limited to;
CANBUS, CAT ET, CUMMINS INSITE, GENIE & JLG
systems.
  • Knowledge of air brake systems and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients or customers.
  • Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and diagrams.
  • Skilled in assembling and disassembling equipment as required.
  • Knowledge of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and specifications.
  • Capable of performing digging tasks using appropriate equipment.
