Job Description

Overview Northstar Recycling is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with 3-5 years of hands-on experience. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery while prioritizing safety and reliability. Duties Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, material handlers, balers, haul trucks) Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and adjustments Identify and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts documentation Collaborate with operators and operations manager to resolve equipment issues Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements Assist with field service calls as needed Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized Experience 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus) Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying outdoor conditions Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Preferred Experience Experience with brands like Sennebogan, Hitachi, Case, Toyota, Doosan, Komatsu, Freightliner, Mack, etc. Welding and fabrication skills Field service experience What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Health and dental benefits Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for training, certifications, and career advancement Supportive team environment focused on safety and growth Join us in delivering top-tier maintenance services that keep heavy machinery operating safely and efficiently! $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
