Position Information This position involves working with heavy equipment. Applicants must have experience operating, maintaining, or repairing large-scale machinery from major industry manufacturers (e.g., excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and similar types of heavy equipment) Diesel field technicians' responsibilities include inspecting and diagnosing diesel engines and related systems (brakes, transmission, electrical, hydraulics, engines, tracks), performing routine maintenance like oil changes and filter replacements, repairing or replacing faulty parts, and conducting test drives to ensure proper function. They also use diagnostic tools, adhere to safety regulations, and communicate with customers about necessary repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspection and Diagnosis:
Conducting physical inspections and visual checks of diesel vehicles and equipment. Using diagnostic tools and computerized systems to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Interpreting diagnostic test results to pinpoint the cause of malfunctions.
Maintenance and Repair:
Performing preventive maintenance, such as oil changes, filters and fluid checks. Repairing or replacing worn-out or damaged components, including engines, transmissions, injectors, and cooling systems. Addressing issues with critical vehicle systems like brakes, steering, exhaust, electrical, hydraulics.
Testing and Verification:
Conducting test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and verify repairs have been successful. Ensuring emissions control systems and other components meet federal and state regulations. Other Duties as
Assigned Other Qualifications Communication:
Consulting with customers to explain detected issues and discuss repair options. Advising customers on maintenance needs and recommended repairs.
Safety and Organization:
Adhering to strict safety procedures and company policies while working. Using power, machine, and hand tools safely and effectively. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Supervisory Responsibility Individual Contributor Travel Requirements This position does not require overnight travel. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma Valid Driver's License Must be able to drive company vehicles 1-3 years Equipment Repair and Diagnostics experience 1-3 years Equipment Maintenance and Repair experience 1 year of experience working in the field exclusively Preferred Requirements Deutz engine maintenance and repair experience
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time.
