  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various sectors such as construction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with your mechanical knowledge, and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Will be working out of a field service truck with crane at our 5 Mile gravel pit. Working 40 to 70 hours per week. Overtime Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, Crusher, Loaders, and other industrial machinery. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system checks, and tire services to maximize equipment lifespan. Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues effectively. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, stick and mig, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Repair transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and steering components to maintain safety standards. Operate heavy machinery during testing or troubleshooting procedures to verify repairs and functionality. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and documentation for all repairs performed while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic with heavy equipment with a minimum of 3-5 years. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical components. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, schematics reading, and welding techniques. Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and the ability to identify suitable replacements for various machinery brands including Caterpillar or similar manufacturers. Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding stick and mig for custom repairs or modifications. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or components. Will have crane available. Excellent ability to communicate technical information clearly to others or team members.
